“ My wife and I had a wonderful dining experience at Taylor Shellfish Oyster Bar on Melrose Avenue in Seattle on March 14, 2025. From the moment we arrived, Jessica made us feel warmly welcomed. We preferred not to sit at the long table facing the street, and she kindly accommodated us with a cozy table for two. We were especially looking forward to trying the Dungeness crab, and Jessica guided us through the menu with enthusiasm and thoughtful suggestions. We ended up ordering Oysters, the Whole Dungeness Crab, and the Moqueca Brazilian Shellfish Stew. The crab was incredibly fresh and delicious! Jessica truly elevated our experience with her warm demeanor, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality. Thank you, Jessica :) ”
“ The staff are very welcoming and friendly, would definitely come back for the geoduck!! *pronounced as gooey duck* The caramelised black cod was really goood! Must try!! *chef’s kiss* ”
“ I only had one chance for Oysters in Seattle and i hit the bullseye with Taylor’s. I got the dozen with 6 varieties of oysters in one meal!!! Small but cozy, warm and inviting. Staff super friendly. They let the kids hold the geoducks (large clams) which squirt when squezzed. Good time, but only for serious seafoodies. Love the location in this neighborhhood. If i ever come back to Seattle, i know where to get me oysters. ”
“ AMAZING FOOD AND SERVICE. There are so many species of oysters and dishes to try at Taylor’s Shellfish. I had a great time with my friends eating oysters, mussels, geoduck, crab and more. The chowder and mac and cheese were also standouts. I really loved my dinner experience here. I would love to come back the next time I visit Seattle. ”
“ Adore this spot! Go-to for fresh oysters, whenever I’m back in town this is one of the first stops! Whether dining in or taking the fresh offerings to go, I’ve never been disappointed. Highly recommend! ”
“ I make it a point to stop here each time I visit Seattle. The Geoduck sashimi is what keeps me coming back. The quality of the seafood here is amazing. If you enjoy West Coast oysters then this place is a treat. The peel and eat prawns, 4 for 14 dollars, are great. The wine list is small but mighty. ”
“ The shellfish are fresh and flavorful. The manager is incredibly friendly, recommending every dish, including the giant uni—I’ve never seen one this big before! Happy Hours from 14:00 to 16:00 are the best! ”
“ I came here on Friday for happy hour. It was about 70% full. The oysters were big and juicy. They were amazing. Service was quick and friendly. It was worth the visit and would definitely come back. Note they add 18% auto-gratuity to the check but that seems to be the norm in Seattle now. ”
